Treehuggers Ball 2008 Post Mortem
What a weekend! The 8th Annual Treehuggers Ball in Terra Alta, West Virginia was a great way for us to start out the 2008 festival season. Thanks to all the folks who came out to see us and for mentioning us at the front gate. You folks rock and we love you!
Vishuddha started out the music on Saturday at 2:30PM and the rest of the show was killer. With acts like the Davisson Bros. Band, The Codetalkers, and Emmitt Nershi Band what’s not to like? Plus, while we were saying goodbye to Trip and the SSDD Crew we had a moment to meet Drew Emmitt, Bill Nershi, and Andy Thorn from Emmitt Nershi Band. Drew Emmitt (mandolin/vocals) was as polite, all smiles, and as unassuming as always (Drew and Billee from Vishuddha jammed together about 10 years ago when Leftover Salmon headlined a Recipe Family Cookout, though he probably doesn’t recall it). Bill Nershi (guitar/vocals) was obviously tired and road-weary (they drove straight on from a show in Philly the previous night), but managed to crack a smile when Billee made a joke about two of his favorite musicians being “right here in the living room” with us. Andy Thorn (banjo/vocals) and our bass player Travis were chatting and joking while we all enjoyed a beer together. Luckily we got out of Trip’s house just before Billee bust into “Just Before The Evening” or “Black Cloud” and managed to embarrass the rest of the band.
Thanks again for everyone’s support and love. Thank you Trip for another awesome weekend. And thank you ENB folks for chatting with us. Hopefully we will see you boys on the road again and good luck with your new sound. It is certainly top-notch music!
